New charges have been filed against an area contractor after police said eight victims came forward claiming to have lost more than $40,000.Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 first told you about the charges against Jason Pirl, 41, in June of 2021. Police said Pirl was operating under the business name Proline Painting. Sherry Snyder told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 she paid Pirl to clean and stain the outside of her home in 2020, but Pirl never did the work.”He always said he needed to get in touch or that he had family issues going on and I didn’t really think much of it,” Snyder said.Snyder said she had previously hired Pirl for the same job nearly a decade ago.”He did the first job for me and it was beautiful so I didn’t think twice about giving him a down payment,” Snyder said.According to police, the latest round of charges date back to 2020 and Pirl is accused of taking more than $40,000 for projects without completing the work. Since December 2020, Pirl has been charged in 12 separate cases spread out across Westmoreland and Fayette counties. He is currently facing 28 felony charges.”He does need to be held accountable,” Snyder said. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 attempted to contact Pirl and his attorney but did not hear back.
